The tin can we drive around in is the closest thing we have to a home. It holds all our worldly possessions, keeps us warm and provides a roof over our heads. And like a house it costs money to run. On top of the rental, fuel is around £1.50 a litre (about $2.25).
So before we took our house to the road, we had a nice breakfast where I was the only one game enough to try black pudding. Black pudding is a type of sausage made by cooking blood or dried blood with a filler until it is thick enough to congeal when cooled. (I got this last piece from Wikipedia). It's actually not too bad.
We also took a walk to Edinburgh Castle. We were here in 2010 but decided it was worth another visit. We drove toward Manchester passing some wonderful scenery and stopping for a coffee at West Linton - a beautiful historic town.
After several hours further driving we arrived at Manchester where we are staying in the city central. It is a hive of activity here with stage shows just down the road, Chinatown across the road and lots of great shops.
Tomorrow we aim to go to Wales.
Happy Easter to all. We hope the Easter Bunny is good to you.
