Travel tip #3 when travelling with children:
We let our kids make choices of where to eat and what to see (within reason) and this keeps them motivated and feel valued. It's worked well for us.
We're still got the coughs except for K whose tolerance levels for the barking drops on an hourly basis. The cold weather doesn't help but we are hitting upwards of 12 degrees but with rain.
We're off to the Musee de Chocolat (Museum of Chocolate). It starts with the history of chocolate commencing with Mayans love of the brown stuff through to modern day manufacturing techniques.
And talk about brown stuff, from here we went to the Paris Sewer System. This is an underground self guided tour of the sewers that run beneath the River Seine. By the way this one was on K's wish list.
We had afternoon tea in this fabulous patisserie cafe tucked away in this gorgeous old arcade. It was very expensive but very worth it.
Then after returning to dress up a little we went for dinner on the Eiffel Tower. The food was the best and we were really lucky to secure seats right next to the window that gave us views to the Trocadaro as well as both ways up the Seine. We then walked around the tower absorbing the amazing views of Paris. When we arrived at the bottom of the tower for about five minutes the tower fluttered with white lights contrasted by it's golden lighting.
Absolutely beautiful.
