I forgot to mention that the other day whilst driving we saw the president. Well that's not completely true - I glimpsed his arm. Ben told us who it was as there was a small blue and red flashing light on the back window. There are three presidents and as the windows were deeply tinted, Ben couldn't tell us which one it was. Interestingly, they drive themselves and without escorts - and they sit in traffic just like us!
We drove to the city to have one last look around. We have found the people of Sarajevo very helpful and nothing is too much of a bother. We're glad we made this visit as I personally, know it has left a huge impact on me. Interestingly, Tilly said, on several occasions, she likes Sarajevo more than Venice. In her words, "There's just something about it."
Given there are very few tourists here, at times we felt like we stood out but to quote a piece from the guidebook 'Sarajevo in Your Pocket' - "Particularly since the war, this is a city that has been it, seen it and done it, so there is nothing you can do that has not been done or seen before."
Thanks Vesna and Franjo for letting us stay in the apartment. We have had an amazing week - one we won't forget.
This is our last day in Sarajevo as we head back to Croatia to spend a few days at Dubrovnik.
