The weather is on every Englishman, woman and child's mind. Yesterday it was the coldest Easter Sunday on record here and there was a flurry of snow falling whilst we ate breakfast. People will often apologise for the coldness as though it's their fault. Top temperatures average about 6 degrees, the sun is rarely seen but it isn't raining so that's got to be good.
So good in fact that we headed off to a range of places commencing with Northleach - a typical Cotswold town. We visited a mechanical museum with centuries old clocks and windup musical instruments.
Next was Turkdean, another pretty village that presented many photographic opportunities. Then off to Burton-On-The-Water for lunch. We realized as soon as we arrived we were he in 2010 but decided to revisit. It was incredibly cold - freezing in fact but we braved the weather for a walk along some amazing streets.
Finally we visited Upper and Lower Slaughter - again a beautiful historic area then to the city of Cheltenham and to Cricklade - a 9th century Saxon town. We all agreed that we had desensitised to very old big beautiful houses and other buildings - such a shame.
Tomorrow is our last day in the Cotswolds as we head east toward Kent.
