This place has served us well and for a little over a week it has given room to spread ourselves, provided respite from eating out and offered magnificent views away from the maddening crowd. It has also provided us with the beautiful people we have met, the kids with a place to explore and play and supplied Tilly with over two dozen cats to feed (we bought them cat food). It has given me many wonderful photo opportunities and the chance to hold a glass of wine in my hand whilst I sat on the balcony and dazed at all it offered. Luscignano is not just a place but a way of life - one that will be sorely missed.
In this area few people speak English but despite this we always find a way to communicate. The children appear very popular with the older Italians and we think it because Finn and Tilly make an effort to attempt their language. We have not met one unfriendly person here. In fact most people are very warm and welcoming wanting to show us inside their home.
Today, whilst earmarked for bludging, also involved packing and some cleaning for we head off early tomorrow for Florence.
