Before we left for Innsbruck, we visited the Catacombs in St. Peter's Cemetery Salzburg. The cemetery is where they filmed some of the Sound of Music. Mozart's sister, who was also very musically gifted is buried there. There are a set of steep steps leading into enclosed caves used as burial grounds.
I spoke too soon. I had mentioned that the places we had chosen were of a good standard but today this was not the case. We chose an apartment rather than a hotel so we or should I say K could cook something we all terribly miss - a home cooked meal. The place we booked is very small (no bedroom) only a small lounge room with a double bed and a sofa bed for the kids. It does have great views of the snow capped alps but looks like it is in a dodgy area. However, the eerie thing and perhaps it's a sign is that the apartment number here is 321. In Munich the room number was 211, in Heidelberg it was 21 and in Trier it was 21.
We organized to meet the owner of the apartment by 2pm so we needed to use the toll autobahn's to make this happen. I had forgotten about buying a vignette that sticks to the windscreen as proof of toll payment. We didn't pay and I believe the fine is quite high for those that travel them illegally. We shall see what happens here.
Tomorrow we're off to the Old Town that is if we can work out which bus to catch.
