Day 66 - Prigradica Korcula Croatia

Finn:
I'm starting to think dads a loner, compared to the amount of relatives mum has!
Dads got parents, a lot of dads dads, uncles and aunties, cousins and their kids...
Well I nearly died when I met mums side....
We left split at 1:30pm to catch a high speed catermaran from Split to Vela Luca (which took 2 hours)
To be then picked up by (this is where it gets ridiculous...) by Dida's (my grandpa, hello dida) by his cousins cousin, Evitza? (We don't know how to spell her name) and her cousin (Didas cousin I mentioned before) Tornchi?
Anyway Evitza lived in Australia for 40 years, has a bit of an Aussie accent, and Tornchi can only speak words of English.
We went to Blato from Vela Luca which was about 5 minutes away from the port which is actually what Vela Luca is.
We then met Tornchi's wife Dijana, and her child (in her twenties) Maria, Maria's partner Chris in English as his name was impossible to say, but meant King of Croatia.
Also we met Maria and Chris's 5 and a half daughter Lucia who was learning English.
They already had a readied dinner for us consisting of 3 beautiful courses.
Homemade wine for the adults too. Happy hour for dad!
We were then driven to another cousins house, Tornchi's brother Peters house (Didas other cousin) where we met Peters wife Mieletza? Who also had homemade wine and a meat platter waiting for us which sadly we already eaten so it was left unfinished.
Also fizzy for us kids.
We then had to use Evitza to interpret our conversation with Mieletza and Peter.
And more to come, came their son Mario, who had a daughter named Marta?
And her bigger shy 9 year old brother Peter who was told to shake my hand to then run off downstairs and come out to go into their backyard only as we left...
Then again by Evitza and Tornchi, we were driven another 10mins to the place we were staying at, in Pergetitja to meet a woman named Shelly, who was Aussie too, and let us into our 3 bedroom, two bathroom, kitchen and 2 dining table apartment where we will be staying in for the next 3 nights.
Our apartment overlooks the Adriatic Sea and the views are magnificent from here as we are right on the islands shoreline where we can peacefully only hear ourselves and the gushing of the ocean.

Enjoy everyone and especially Dida and Grandma as they were also talking about you two in Australia and I showed them your unit on Google Maps 😃

Karinne's Kuick Kuote: We've had a magnificent day getting here, and eating with our relatives who welcomed us with open arms. I will be coming back here in years to come. 😉
