Travelling with kids is always fun isn't it? Not only do you get to hear them fighting and farting in the car, you get to relive the experience all over again in the hotel room which are often not much bigger than our chook house at home. There's just no escape. But that is one of the experiences of travelling together for three months.
Another experience of travelling together is that we really do bond, become more tolerant of one another and look out for each other. As I said on the 2010 journey, when else do you spend 24/7 with the same people for three months - it isn't natural but things so far have been great - touch wood.
So our experiences from today started with a drive to Oxford - home of Harry Potter, Mini's and some university. On the way we deviated down side streets to hidden villages such as Littleworth Thrupp and Coxwell dating back many centuries with of the houses having thatched roofs.
Oxford is a beautiful place with some shops and pubs dating to the 11th century. We explored around Oxford University - it will be the closest we will ever get to it and grabbed lunch at Congregation House, one of the Universities rooms where the Ruling Council met built in 1320. We then walked through Trinity College but missed the walking tour of the area.
We didn't realise until dinner time that daylight savings started last night as we became confused. Our watches showed an hour less than the car clock then checking our phones confirmed that it was an hour later than we thought.
Happy birthday Kerry - hope you had a good one.
