Two months down - one to go but whose counting? K was yesterday. I think we all get that feeling of just getting tired. Tired of packing, unpacking, lugging suitcases, what will we eat, what will we see today? It can be exhausting both mentally and physically when four people have to be satisfied. So we get entitled every now and again to say "I've had enough".
But today is a new day with renewed enthusiasm. We walked to the train station to buy tickets to Ancona as from here we will ferry to Split in Croatia. So given our experiences with closed ticket offices we thought we would buy a few days beforehand so we are right to go.
From here we walked up to Piazzale Michelangelo where the view overlooks the UNESCO World Heritage Central Florence. A Spanish couple asked me to take a photo of them with their iphone. They began to pash as this was the pose the wanted me to photograph. K and the kids didn't know where to look.
Whilst up on the Piazzale, Tilly and I visited the Basilica di San Miniato al Monte just up the road - a marble church with cemeteries and vaults making up its balconies.
Finn began to feel unwell so we took a leisurely walk through some wonderful back streets and tiny shops towards home. K bought some lipstick for some ridiculous price so my expectations are for the cost she should only need to apply it once a week.
Tomorrow will be our last day in Florence for we're off to Croatia.
