Accidents and near misses. K has cut her finger quite badly whilst cutting a bread loaf that Tilly wanted to feed to the many wild cats that live here in the village. It won't seem to stop bleeding and there is a flap of skin where it was cut.
Another incident was when we were walking to a cemetery just down the road a snake slithered past my feet. I actually didn't see it but K did. She guesstimated it to be a metre long and three centimetres in diameter. Could of been harmless but who knows? Apparently the vipers that are quite small are the dangerous ones whilst the larger ones such as this one are harmless but I'm not taking any chances.
Today we decided to go to Lucca hidden behind imposing Renaissance walls dating back to 180 BC. We did visit here in 2010 but loved it so much we'll do it again. We caught the train from Minucciano Piece Casola with little difficulty despite the cafe owner who sells the train tickets very limited use of English.
I'll let Tilly talk about her day.
When we got to Lucca we walked around the amazing, beautiful village it is incredible I don't know how you can get board in Lucca after walking around for about 30 minuets Finn was complaining and saying he was hungry so we stopped at a little cafe.I had a hamburger that fell to pieces in about 3 seconds.Everybody else was happy with paininis. After that we asked the lady at the cafe where the nearest "Rent a bike" was so she told us it was straight around the corner so when we walked around the corner we looked at the bikes Dad said to the man I want this bike but then Mum said it was a girls bike so dad said hmmmmmmm I don't want that bike I think I might have that one over there so I got a blue bike with roses on it,Finn got a red and black bike Same with dad and Mum got a white bike.We went riding all over town Finn nearly rode into someone but if it wasn't for me he would have rode right into her. When we were riding we went past the museum of torture after going around for about an hour and a half we started heading back all the way dad and mum were complaining how much our bottoms were hurting. After we returned we remembered how lovely Lucca was so we decided to pay a little visit to Piazza Anfiteatro but on the way we made an unplanned stop to Torre Guinigi tower. After climbing 229 stairs we finally got to the top and guess what there was a tree on the tower a tree.Mum stayed down the bottom "big mistake" and ate chewing gum while me,Finn and dad went up I went down pretty quick and Mum said that I has some award winning photos anyway we kept going and finally got to Piazza Anfiteatro and we couldn't stop looking at all of the shops there were so many we finally left and couldn't find our way back to the train station but we had a little help from everyone.Right know we are on the train at a station called Diecimo-Pescaglia because one of the train ticket person was having a cigarette.
